Endurance Fuel for Running, Cycling, and High-Performance Training (900g)
Carbs. Salt. A light 50mg of caffeine per scoop — less than half a mug of filter coffee. A neutral citrus you can drink for four hours without getting sick of it.
FTP Power Fluids Core is a lightly caffeinated carbohydrate and electrolyte drink mix for endurance athletes — built to sit alongside our energy pastilles so you can hit 60–90g of carbohydrate an hour without eating all of it.
Core or Tart Cherry? Both work. Here's the difference
We make two Power Fluids at the same price, with the same 27g of carbohydrate per serving. The fuel is identical. You are choosing flavour, and whether you want caffeine in the bottle.
Core (Neutral Citrus) — 50mg of caffeine per scoop, less than half a mug of filter coffee. A neutral flavour that does not fatigue your palate over a long day.
Tart Cherry — no caffeine, real Montmorency cherry.
Plenty of people keep both in the cupboard and pick by session. Neither is a mistake.
How much caffeine is actually in it
50mg per 30g scoop. A mug of filter coffee is around 140mg. A mug of instant is around 100mg.
Mixed as directed in 500–750ml, that works out at 67–100mg per litre. Food labelling rules require a drink to be declared high in caffeine above 150mg per litre, so Core sits below that threshold. It is not an energy drink and is not built like one.
For context across a longer day, EFSA's assessment is that single doses up to 200mg, and up to 400mg over 24 hours, do not raise safety concerns for healthy adults. Two bottles on a long ride is 100mg — about a mug of instant coffee.
Count everything if you are stacking sources. A caffeinated gel is commonly 75–100mg, though brands range from around 35mg to 200mg, and your pre-start coffee counts too.
Prefer none at all? Tart Cherry is caffeine-free with the same 27g of carbohydrate per serving, and all our Energy Pastilles are caffeine-free.

What Is Actually In The Bottle
27g of carbohydrate per 30g scoop, from dextrose and cane sugar — so you are taking on both glucose and fructose rather than glucose alone.
300mg of sodium per serving. Sweat losses vary enormously between athletes; 300mg per 500–750ml sits in the middle of the usual range for a moderate sweater.
50mg of caffeine per scoop — less than half a mug of filter coffee.
No miracle powders — just fuel.
How to Use
Mix one 30g scoop with 500–750 ml of water. Drink during the session.
Typical carbohydrate intake targets:
• 30–60 g an hour for moderate efforts
• 60–90 g an hour for longer or harder sessions
One bottle of Power Fluids gets you to roughly 27g. Two pastilles get you another 30g. That combination is how most people reach the top of that range without a stomach full of liquid.
Practise your fuelling in training so race day is a repeat, not an experiment. That goes for the carbohydrate rate as much as anything else.
